Franchise of Terrell Suggs
I am going to be honest here I love the Sizzle and I hope in no way that my man love for Terrell will negatively effect this article(yeah right). Come on now let’s be honest the former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year is feared by every quarterback on this side of the AFC. He brings a level of intensity that only Bart Scott and Ray Lewis can match. With Trevor lined up in front of him I don’t believe there is an offensive lineman in the NFL that can completely take him out of the sack equation. After that very positive introduction I will point out he only had 6 sacks last season. Thats right I said it 6. Only 6 when your playing against the likes of the Rams, Cardinals, Jets, Dolphins, 49ers, and Buffalo is simply unacceptable. Trevor Pryce was hurt , but this is the same guy that came into the league and had double digit sacks in his rookie season. I understand that a supporting cast is important , but come on some of the teams offensive lines we played last season were about as effective as the really thin toilet paper. After all this talk you are probably wondering where I am gong with all of this. Quite simply I believe the front office made the right choice franchise him and see what he does next year. If what he did last season continues trade him from a draft pick and let some team think they can put the sizzle back in Terrell Suggs. If he continues his double digit sacks than sign him to a long term contract and call it a day. Please feel free to comment.
